Accredited Makeup Courses at The Face Painting Shop Essex

Lauren Jackson Make-up Academy was created by Lauren Jackson. With over 8 years of experience, Lauren and her guest tutors can cover all aspects of Make-up in either accredited form with Lauren or modular, with her guest tutors - all of which have vast experience in Bridal, TV, Film and the Glossies. The Academy can offer training in Bridal, Editorial, Special Effects, TV, Film, Special Occasion and Fashion Make-up. You can also train to become a bridal hair designer, adapt the looks taught to you to cross over to fashion, event and photographic hair styling.

A little history about the Academy.... After 4 years under the FWAcademy umbrella, Lauren is launching in her own name. Offering the aspiring Make-up and Hair Artist out there or for those that wish to brush up on their skills in both Make-up and Hair Design to take a course and become a fully fledged Make-up and Hair Artist. Trained by experienced artists in their specialised areas for module courses such as special effects and editorial make-up, Lauren wanted to keep to the same ethics of The FWAcademy offering friendly, yet professional courses whether it is in Make-up and or Hair. With an eye for detail and being thorough you, the student are given full support after completing a course here at the Academy, with the chance for future freelance work in either wedding or event work.

What does the Academy offer?
1/2 day, 1, 2 and 5 day training courses all accredited by either The Professional Guild of Beauty or BABTAC and to shortly follow CIBTAC.  You, the student will feel comfortable in the knowledge that upon successful completion you will be a recognised Make-up and Hair Artist with a recognised qualification sponsored by The Professional Guild of Beauty. Enabling you to obtain the most important Public Liability Insurance. You also have the option for a professional photo shoot giving you the stepping stone to create your professional portfolio, vital for paid work in the world of Make-up and Hair. Whilst these are at an additional cost and optional, they are beneficial.
How much do the courses cost?
Course costs start at £85 for a half day training session in Spray tanning, using Sienna X or Lauren's Way spray tan solution and rise to £950 for a full 5 day one to one intensive Make-up and Hair Course to include face painting event training as an additional module should you require it.  Day rates are £196 per day per person when not forming part of a block 5 day Make-up and Hair course.  If you have a group of 3 then discounts will be offered if all 3 of you book together at the same time.  This offer does not apply to courses at The Face Painting Shop.
*please note that costs/offers may slightly differ when running courses working in conjunction with other establishments due to location/travel surcharges/packages on offer at that time etc.

Other types of courses available
Training can also be given in groups of 3 people or more where the courses are slightly less in cost to suit those who have a stricter budget. Course numbers never exceed more than 6 people at any one time to make sure that you get my undivided attention.

Times: 10.30-4pm with a lunch break at 1pm
When: 6^th and 7^th February 2 day Make-up course then:
6^th and 7^th March 2 day bridal hair course
3^rd and 4^th April 2 day Make-up course
Course:  Level 2 Make-up to include Intermediate/Advanced techniques & bridal hair up

• Cost: 2 day make-up is £392 one to one (should these dates not be convenient and would like to book another day in the diary)
• Group cost for 2 day make-up - £245 pp
• One to one prices for 2 day Hair is £450 (same applies as above)
• Group cost for 2 day hair - £375pp
   

What’s included?:  Full course notes are provided & certificate upon successful completion, use of kit and equipment throughout training
What is not included: Models – please if you can, bring your own. If for whatever reason you cannot find a model for training, let me know and I will try to arrange one. Please note that models for hair training have to have medium length hair or longer
Additional information: Group courses are when 3 or more people are booked on.  If there are not enough numbers to form a group course, then your booking will roll onto the next make-up and or hair course

My name is Shonagh Scott and I'm a UK based Professional Makeup Artist. I market myself under the name of 'ShowMe MakeUp' I've been in the industry for over 10 years, and I've covered all areas during my time an MUA; Theatre, Film & TV, Editorial, Fashion, Bridal and more. I've had the privilege of working on some famous faces & in some amazing locations. My work has been published in magazines such as Vogue Italia, Scratch Magazine, Hair Salon & more. We are super excited to anncounce that the amazing Margi Kanter will be at The Face Painting Shop training studio to teach her unique style of face painting on Sunday 13th October 2013.

Class Description- In this 6 hour workshop Margi will break down the basic cartooning
concepts for her amazing Nose art-imation. This class will include 6 hours of brush
technique and cartoon building.
Margi will go over the products and brushes she uses to create her colorful masterpieces.
She will build the characters from the inside out creating levels of paint that work together
so that your creations are clean, bold, and functional.
We will teach a segment on different eyes and face shapes to show different emotions.
Margi will break down the cartoons into shapes and help you to figure out proper
placement for each design for the most animation.Margi will teach you different ways to
shape hands and feet from basic to more complicated.
Margi will incorporate demonstration and practice techniques for each individual part of
the cartoon from mouth expressions to hand and foot design.
She will teach outlining techniques and demonstrate easy ways to highlight your
designs.
After we work out the concepts we will begin building a basic penguin and create straight
on as well as side facing designs. Margi will dabble in her silly one eyed designs and
show you how to create images that are simplistic masterpieces of which will open your
mind to create your own designs.
The final part of class will open your mind and allow you to work on creating your own
designs and placement. A group discussion on each individual design will show just
how much you learned. . To share... is to learn.

 

The Class will start at 10.00am and end at 4.00pm

Our new retail store

Say hello ro our very own retail store.

We collected the keys to the shop this week.

This shop will be a face amd body painters paradise,  and will include a training studio to accommodate 20 students.

It will also feature a painting studio and professional photography area. This will be for face and body painters to hire for work on portfolios or paid work.

Our new address will be 1-3 wharf Road, stanford Le Hope, Essex.

Paintopia face and bpdy painting festival 2013

The Face Painting Shop was very proud to be a part of this years Paintopia face and body painting festival.

A great weekend was had by all that attended. The work that was produced over the three days was world class.

Jennie and her team done a great job, every detail was planned to perfection and every one was made to feel welcome.

We were also proud sponsers of the Professors apprentice competition.
